Tsongas Center

Opened and dedicated on January 27th, 1998, the Center proudly bears the name of the late Senator Paul E. Tsongas, a Lowell native. We are one of Massachusetts newest venues providing quality entertainment for all ages. The Center is home to the NCAA Division I UMass-Lowell River Hawks hockey team.

In addition to exciting hockey action, the Center hosts concerts, family shows, sporting events, tradeshows and conferences. Some of the world's biggest stars have performed before capacity crowds. We can seat 6,500 patrons for hockey and up to 7,800 for concerts without losing the intimate feeling needed for a memorable experience.

The Tsongas Center is the only full service, multi-purpose, mid-sized venue serving the region. Also featuring a beautifully landscaped outdoor area, function rooms overlooking the Merrimack River and a spacious lobby, the arena is perfect for all types of events - whether they be business meetings or major shows!

Located only minutes off I-495, the Center  is a convenient drive from Boston or New Hampshire. With ample affordable parking, a wide variety of refreshing concessions, clear sight lines and professional service, patrons are sure to return again and again.
