2008 Visa Championships (Women)
Description Agganis Arena at Boston University will host the 2008 VISA Championships on June 5-7 2008. The VISA Championships, USA Gymnastics national championships’, includes women’s artistic gymnastics at both the junior and senior elite levels. The Visa Championships traces its history back to 1931 for the women.The Visa Championships feature the country’s best gymnasts vying for national titles in women’s artistic gymnastics, as well as qualifying for the U.S. national team. In 2007, Shawn Johnson of West Des Moines, Iowa, joined an impressive list of gymnasts who have earned the coveted title of U.S. all-around champion. The roster of former all-around champions is a veritable who’s who in gymnastics, including Carly Patterson, Courtney Kupets, Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes, Kim Zmeskal and Mary Lou Retton. Tickets are currently available for purchase through participating area gymnastics clubs. Tickets for the public will go on sale in early 2008. For more information, call 617-353-4628. Volunteer Opportunities: Because of the limited number of volunteer positions, completion of this application does not guarantee you a volunteer position. Volunteers will receive a complimentary, commemorative event t-shirt that will also serve as part of the volunteer uniform.
